LGBTQ2S+ LEGAL CLINIC

What is the LGBTQ2S+ Legal Clinic?

The QLaw Foundation LGBTQ2S+ Legal Clinic offers free consultation with a volunteer attorney. Attorneys help clients understand their legal problem, suggest possible options, and provide appropriate referrals. These attorneys will not represent you in court. We serve all parts of Washington State, and all appointments are held by phone. See below for additional options related to language, disability, and safety accommodations.

How can I schedule an appointment with the LGBTQ2S+ Legal Clinic?

Please use the sidebar buttons to link to schedule online. You can also call 206-235-7235 and leave a voice message. Our staff will try to get back to you within 2 to 3 business days. If you would like to communicate directly with us but phone contact is not accessible or you would like to set up a time to connect via relay, please email clinic@qlawfoundation.org.

Do I have to pay anything to attend the LGBTQ2S+ Legal Clinic?

The LGBTQ2S+ Legal Clinic does not charge fees. Our volunteer attorneys offer a FREE consultation!

How long are the appointments?

The appointments are 30 minutes, but we can accommodate longer appointments if needed.

Do the LGBTQ2S+ Legal Clinic volunteer attorneys understand LGBTQ2S+ issues?

Many of our volunteer attorneys are part of Washington’s LGBTQ2S+ communities.  They are also specially trained to discuss legal issues commonly faced by members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, asexual, agender, intersex, pansexual, gender nonconforming, gender fluid, two spirit, and other identities represented within our LGBTQ2S+ communities.

I need language, disability, or safety accommodations.

Our LGBTQ2S+ Legal Clinic appointments are held by phone, though we can make exceptions in some circumstances if a telephone appointment is not accessible for you. We work with both volunteer translators and a phone interpreter line which can accommodate most languages. If you need ASL interpretation or any other form of disability-related accommodation, or if you do not have access to a safe place to hold a phone conversation during the clinic appointment time, please email us at clinic@qlawfoundation.org.
